Above: 'All the Best F1' - a 1998 Painting by Gary Long (LE print of 250). Shows all the F1 winners at that time - Mike is on the far right! This hangs on the wall of 'Hawthorns' in Farnham who look after Mike's grave and who once owned Mike's Tourist Trophy Garage.

An extremely evocative painting by Michael Turner. In the International Trophy Meeting on May 3rd 1958 at Silverstone, the Jaguar of Tommy Sopwith takes a desperate line round the outside of the fencing at Stowe Corner during his tremendous duel with eventual winner Mike Hawthorn driving his Jaguar Mk 1, VDU 881.

The cover of Chris Nixon's 'Mon Ami Mate', the biography of Peter Collins and Mike Hawthorn. Graham Turner's painting shows them exchanging worried glances at the Nurburgring as Fangio looms larger in their mirrors. This was available as a Limited Edition print but has now sold out.

This one came up on eBay recently and could have been yours for under $18! It's by Carlo Demand showing Mike in his Jaguar D-type taking Fangio. It was an exhibit item (one of many different Le Mans cars) and was on display at several Grand Prix and Le Mans Welcome Centers during 1957/1958.
