Car No 8 driven by Hawthorn is about to take corner, then Mike skids on to grass verge, turns round, crashes small fence then is in control of car again. He drives on to track again and races away. Hawthorn drives up to another competitor gets level then races away again.

Moss, Collins and Hawthorn crashed out of Monaco Grand Prix race won by Fangio. Three cars coming out of tunnel and along harbour side. Camera pans as No 32, a Maserati driven by Fangio, enters the Chicene where the pile up of the three British divers took place. We see Stirling Moss' wrecked Vanwall at the side of the road. SV. Mike Hawthorn's and Peter Collins' Ferraris piled up beside the harbour.

Only 60 hours before he died, we see Mike at the Cafe Royal, London, for the National Sporting Club presentation to him. Charles Forte unveils a cocktail cabinet that the club is presenting to Mike Hawthorn, unlocking it to show bottles of drink inside. Guests applaud. Mike makes a speech saying how delighted he is with the honour and the cocktail cabinet, but thinks the drink will count against him in getting a reduction with a Swedish insurance firm. He talks of his 8 years as a racing driver and refers to his retirement "now's the time"
